Here at Head of the Hounds we realise a dog isn't just a pet, but is one of the family. That's how we like to treat each of our furry friends that come to visit us at our modern, fully customised Doggy Boutique here at Riverhead, Sevenoaks.

Being doggy parents ourselves we know how important it is for your dog to receive tailored individual care & attention during every visit, no matter what that may entail or how long it takes. Never is there just 'another job' or 'time slot' with us as we pride our work on your dog's comfort and care during their stay as well as ensuring they look great when you come to collect them.

You can rest assured that whilst in our care your dog will be treated as one of our own, one of our 'pack'.

Let us pamper your pooch and be wowed by the results as your dog leaves us truly looking and feeling like they are 'Head of the Hounds'!!

De-shedding

If you have a smooth coated or double coated breed and are forever hoovering, this is the treatment for your dog! With up to 80% less shedding, it really shows results. Smooth/short coated breeds such as Labradors, Jack Russells, Pugs, Bull dogs and Staffordshire ball terriers, as well as double coated breeds such as GSD, Huskies, Collies and many more can benefit from this treatment.

Hand stripping

This is a specialised technique that removes coat from wire haired terriers and silky coated breeds. It is very time consuming and involves great skill to achieve the right finish. Hand stripping will keep a good harsh texture and rich natural colour to your dog’s coat. If clipped, it will dull and soften the coat.

Highly recommend Head of Hounds! I recently took my six month old pup for his first trim since the lockdown restrictions had eased. From the outset the owner Courtney was very friendly and professional, she understood our needs straight away and was very accommodating. The service is fully compliant with the current government guidelines so my mind was put at rest.
Courtney was very gentle with puppy and put him at ease, she spend time getting him used to the new experience and went above and beyond to make it as comfortable as possible for him. The end result is fantastic, I am very impressed considering it was his first time and how difficult he has been when I have washed him! I am very thankful to Courtney and looking forward to our next visit! I would highly recommend this service, it is extremely well priced for the quality of the service.

My Story

From the age of 11 years old, I had always wanted a Bulldog but my mum would never let me get one. Twenty years later, my fiance and I made the big decision to rescue Chuck. It was mad dog love at first sight and I knew from that moment on that I wanted to work with dogs full time.

I went on to do a City and Guilds Level 3 in Dog Grooming and a First Aid course for animals. It was super hard work, but I had a clear vision for the kind of service I wanted to offer to my customers and their pets. My fiance and I built my beautiful dog grooming studio in our garden when we moved to our lovely cottage.

My business has grown so much that I now work full time grooming and caring for lots of gorgeous doggies. It’s always a complete joy for me to start work each day and to meet new and old customers alike.
