Head of the Hounds Grooming Agreement
We do everything possible to make sure your pet’s time with us is as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, occasionally grooming can expose previously hidden medical issues, or aggravate current ones. This can happen during or after grooming.
It's possible that an accident could occur during grooming. Utmost care and caution will always be taken, but cuts, scratches, nicks, and quickening of nails could occur, but Head of the Hounds cannot be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming.
Head of the Hounds will not be responsible for the accidental death of the pet as a result of any pre-existing health condition.
Should we determine, at our discretion, that urgent veterinary care is required, due to a pre-existing health issue, undisclosed or otherwise. I agree to pay all associated fees and costs, for any injury not associated with grooming. If my pet’s vet is not available, I authorise Head of the Hounds to use it's chosen vet.
Head of the Hounds can not be liable for any after-grooming effects of de-matting, clipping, or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Time and costs associated with de-matting are unpredictable. A £10 fee may be charged as untangling badly matted coats takes a lot of time to rectify and causes a knock on effect for the rest of the day's appointments. If my dog is matted and the untangling process is causing discomfort, Head of the Hounds will have no other option than to shave the coat to avoid any further distress to my dog. The main priority at Head of the Hounds is my dog's wellbeing and this will always be prioritised over appearance. Whether a dog is matted is at the sole discretion of Head of the Hounds.
I agree that I have truthfully informed Head of the Hounds if my pet has ever bitten another animal or a human, or if they have any other aggressive tendencies. I agree and understand that I will be held solely responsible for any injury, harm, or damage to property caused by my pet.
Head of the Hounds have the right to refuse to groom any pet in an unsatisfactory state, including, but not limited to, behavioral issues, fleas, ticks, other parasites, kennel cough or other contagious diseases. If a dog is found to have fleas, Head of the Hounds reserves the right to charge an extra £10 to cover the costs of using a medicated flea shampoo and to ensure the salon is fully cleaned down after the groom, to avoid further infestation.
Due to no show appointments we also operate a strict policy on missed appointments and I agree that if I need to change an appointment I will notify Head of the Hounds no less than 48 hours before the booked appointment. If insufficient notice is given, I agree to pay 50% of the estimated grooming charges, or if less than 24 hours notice is given, 100% of the fee. If appointments are missed on a regular basis, pre-payment will be required. If Head of the Hounds deems necessary, a 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking.
If paying by bank transfer, I agree to make payment on the same day as my dog's appointment.
Head of the Hounds politely request that all customers drop off and collect on time. Please let Courtney at Head of the Hounds know, at the first instance, if you are going to be late. If late by 20 minutes or more, the appointment may not be able to go ahead as this will not leave enough time for the groom to be completed. This will result in a charge of 100% of estimated grooming charges. We endeavor to avoid all extra charges, but persistent late collectors will be charged.
I hereby confirm that I understand and agree with all points stated above.
